Grade and Classification
Standard wool lengths

Knox International can offer all types of Australian Sheepskins, Spring Lambskins, and Shorn Lambskins. Skins can be supplied either Drumsalted or Airdried.

Standard grades are:
1st Grade (Sound); 2nd Grade; 3rd Grade; and Damaged
.



Sheepskin can be classified for specific products

Skins can also be classified for specific products, including the control and classification of "seed" and "rib". Visible Seed Free "Double Face" selections are available year round due to our ability to keep stocks of all products 12 months of the year.

Drumsalted -

Skins are packed on export pallets of about 900 kgs gross weight. 20 pallets are loaded into a 20-foot ocean freight container. The quantity per pallet varies according to wool length, skin type and skin size.

Drumsalted skins are sold per skin without reference to weight.

airdried

Airdried -

Skins are packed in pressed bales of about 310 kgs gross weight, 33 bales, approximately 10,000 kgs, are loaded into a 20-foot ocean freight container. The quantity per bale varies according to wool length, skin type and skin size.

Airdried skins are generally sold per kilo with skin quantity stated.
